Padi Wreck Diver Specialty
The PADI Wreck Diver Course is designed to be an introduction to wreck diving and to help divers develop the necessary skills, knowledge and techniques to safely participate in wreck diving.
Topics covered are:
PRE-REQUISITES: Be certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent and be at least 15 years old. A diving medical must be submitted, no older than 12 months.
COURSE OUTLINE: The Course consists of 4 open water dives over two weekends (2 dives per day), plus two theory nights.
a) Planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving.
b) The preparation and use of lights, air supplies special equipment, penetration lines and reels.
c) Limited visibility diving and emergency techniques
COURSE FEE: The PADI Wreck Diver Course requires an investment of $395.00. A $100.00 deposit will secure your place on the Course, with the balance due on the first theory night.
INCLUDED IN THE COURSE: Certification Costs, Air Fills, Instructor Fees, 4 Boat Dives, Wall Certificate and Personal ID Card. It is recommended that twin tanks or a redundant air source such as a pony bottle be used on this program.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT FOR THE COURSE: Complete open water diving equipment including Wetsuit, Gloves, BCD, Regulators with Octopus, Gauges, Knife, Compass, Depth Gauge, Timing Device, Primary and Back-up Light. A primary dive reel is also recommended for wreck penetration.
Note: The equipment is NOT supplied as part of the course. It is suggested that you purchase your own equipment at this level of training. Equipment can be hired from DS. at a cost of $70.00 for the entire course. Hobart Dives Upgrades are available.
