Deep Specialty Course


The PADI Deep Diver Course is designed to be an introduction to deep diving and to help divers develop the necessary skills, knowledge and techniques to safely participate in diving to depths of 40m.

PRE-REQUISITES: Be certified a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent and be at least 15 years old. A diving medical must be submitted, no older than 12 months.

COURSE OUTLINE: The course usually runs over two weekends, including theory and pool workshops, plus four Open Water dives on the second weekend.

Topics Covered are:

a)††††† Planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, gas management, problems and hazards of deep diving.

b)††††† Safety Stops, Dive Table Reviews and Emergency Decompression Procedures.

c)††††† Specialty Equipment and Procedures.

d)†††† Practical Workshop.

COURSE FEE: The PADI Deep Diver Course requires an investment of $495. A $100 deposit will secure your place on the course, with the balance due on the first theory night.


INCLUDED IN THE COURSE: Certification Costs, Air Fills, Instructor Fees, 4 Boat Dives, Wall Certificate and Personal ID Card. It is recommended that twin tanks or a redundant air source such as a pony bottle be used on this program.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT FOR THE COURSE: Complete open water diving equipment including Wetsuit, Gloves, BCD, Regulators with Octopus, Gauges, Knife, Compass, Depth Gauge, Timing Device, Underwater Slate and Pencil. It is also recommended that either twin tanks or a redundant air source such as a pony bottle are used for the duration of the course.
