Night Specialty Course

The PADI Night Diver Speciality Course is designed to be an introduction to night diving and to help divers develop the skills, knowledge, and techniques necessary to safely participate in night diving activities.

PRE-REQUISITES:††††††††††† Be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or PADI Junior Open Water Diver, or equivalent.A diving medical must be submitted no older than 12 months.The minimum age is 12 years old.

COURSE OUTLINE: The Course can†consist of three separate dives over three nights plus one night of theory.

Topics covered are:

a)†††† The planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of night diving.

b)†††† The proper procedure for buoyancy control, navigation and communication

c)†††† Diving lights

d)†††† Emergency procedures

e)†††† Orientation to nocturnal life

COURSE FEE: The PADI Night Diver Course requires an investment of $225. A $100 deposit will secure your place in the Course, with the balance due on the first theory evening.

INCLUDED IN THE COURSE: Certification Costs, Air Fills, Instructor Fees, Wall Certificate, Personal ID Card, Glow Sticks for Night Dives.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT FOR THE COURSE: Complete open water diving equipment, including Wetsuit, Gloves, BCD, Regulators with Octopus, Gauges, Knife, Compass, Depth Gauge, Timing Device, Primary Diving Light and Back-up Light, Underwater Slate and Pencil.

NOTE:††††††††† The equipment is NOT supplied as part of the Course. It is suggested that you purchase your own equipment at this level of training.Equipment can be hired from†DS at a cost of $70 for the entire Course (excluding torches).
